About Tanya Singh Bhadauria

I have always been interested in what lies underneath things.
Under the personality.
Under the story we tell about ourselves.
Under the circumstances of a life.
Why do we become who we become? Why do certain patterns repeat? Why do some experiences change us completely while others pass through us unnoticed? What is consciousness? What does it mean to know yourself? And how much of what we call personality is actually something we inherited, adapted to, or learned to survive?
These questions have followed me for years.
My path has taken me through very different bodies of knowledge: Vedic astrology and Jyotish, Western astrology, Vedanta and the Upanishads, depth psychology, Jungian thought, philosophy, symbolism, meditation, yoga, somatic practices, neuroscience, trauma literature, and contemplative traditions.
I have studied hundreds of books across these fields, maintained a long standing meditation practice, explored traditional spiritual practices, and spent years observing my own inner life as carefully as I have studied the systems themselves.
I did not begin with the intention of creating a framework.
I was simply trying to understand.
Over time, the subjects began speaking to one another.
Astrology gave me a language for time, temperament, circumstance, and recurring patterns. Psychology gave me a language for the unconscious. Philosophy gave me questions about how to live. Contemplative traditions kept bringing me back to the nature of awareness itself. Somatic work showed me that understanding something intellectually does not always mean the body has understood it.
Eventually, these stopped feeling like separate interests.
They became different ways of looking at the same human question:
What does it mean to become conscious of your own life?
That question is at the centre of Witnessing the Cosmos.
I am particularly interested in the space between systems. Between astrology and psychology. Between fate and freewill .Between ancient contemplative traditions and contemporary understanding. Between what happens to us and how we meet what happens to us.
I do not believe that any single framework has the whole answer.
I am interested in what becomes visible when we allow different ways of knowing to illuminate one another without pretending that they are the same thing.
My work is therefore both analytical and contemplative.
I care about precision, but I also care about meaning.
I care about patterns, but I care equally about the person living inside them.
And I care deeply about agency.
A chart should not make you afraid of your life. A psychological framework should not turn your wounds into an identity. A spiritual path should not require you to surrender your discernment.
The purpose of understanding is ultimately to become more capable of meeting your own life consciously.
That is the work I am interested in.
And that is the space I hope to create here.
A little more personally
Outside the formal frameworks, I am someone who reads obsessively, writes, studies, observes, asks too many questions, and keeps following an idea until I understand where it leads.
I am interested in consciousness, human behaviour, mythology, symbolism, the body, ancient texts, modern psychology, and the strange places where apparently unrelated disciplines begin to overlap.
I am still learning.
This website is not the conclusion of that investigation.
It is part of it.
Welcome to Witnessing the Cosmos.
I’m glad you’re here.
